I am currently the Science Department Chair at Sequoyah High School in Pasadena, CA. There, I started the STEM Institute and managed the Talking Leaves program, in which every student gives a dissertation-style talk at the end of each semester.

I received my PhD in Astronomy from UCLA. As a graduate student in UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy, I worked with Ben Zuckerman studying the evolution of planetary systems. My particular interest was in finding the ages of the stars which host dusty debris disks through a variety of methods in order to better understand how these debris disk parameters evolve over time.

I am also very interested in STEM outreach, education, and communication, and have served as the outreach coordinator for Astronomy Live! for two years. I am also the co-founder of the SciComm Hub - an international network of graduate students interested in STEM communication. I am co-founder and CEO of Signal to Noise Magazine - a science magazine written by scientists for the general public.
